LP (Long Play) is a visual and acoustical underworld hidden behind the mask of everyday life; an escape gate through which our dreams and fears pass. A millennial temple in which we can celebrate the error; open a gap of human fragility. Wires, software, high-heeled shoes and a beard. The bodies strain under tricks of light and sound, political speeches, cellphones and pop icons. On the eve of the apocalypse, Long Play is a cry of resistance that pays tribute to the generation of the new millennium.

These creations want to present a way of perceiving the world; to render homage to the tribe to which it belongs, at the same time questioning it. Narcissist, childish and hedonist. Globalized, technological, hyper-connected. Insecure, creative and anxious. To show what we are in our most crude state.

The characters are young contemporaries, asking themselves questions about the society in which they live. From the Bible to the Smartphone, from Virgin Mary to the non-binary androgynous, from classical music to techno, from Donald Trump to Christine and the queens… Drenched in the symbols of the past and with anxious eyes set on the future, we are struck by the unfinished question of the present..

Long Play is also a tribute to music. Music allows us to dream of another world. It is a circle within which we can be who we really are; get together, take care of each other, celebrate, confront oneself.

We create an authentic discourse, highlighting the fragility of bodies, driven by essential states. Among our influences are Phia Menard, Chloé Moglia, Johan Swartvagher, Pina Bausch and Marina Abramovich. We nurture ourselves from circus but also from many other things: the nostalgic melodies of contemporary electronic music, those which play old songs parading samplers. That mixture of drama and pop, sexy but transgressor, that we find in Xavier Dolan’s movies. The subversive but chic, elegant but always punk, as inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s costumes.

We believe that OLGA innovates from the moment that it refuses to hide behind a spectacle, nor try to be something it is not. The contemporary circus legitimizes our artistic pursuit with its acceptance of our deconstruction of its language. For us this artistic hybrid can still clearly be called circus.
